Simon Receives ASQ-Certified Six Sigma Green Belt

Urban’s Richard C. Simon has completed the requirements to be named an ASQ-Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. The announcement was made by the Certification Board of the American Society for Quality.

Six Sigma is defined as “a business management strategy that seeks to identify and remove the causes of defects and errors in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction or profit increase).”

Simon, who joined Urban in 2000, is a Senior Quality Project Manager in the firm’s New York City office. He is also an ASQ-Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and a Senior Member of ASQ.
