Urban Celebrates its 48th Birthday

Urban Engineers opened up shop 48 years ago with a seven-person staff in a row house on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. 

Today, Urban is a privately-owned (ESOP), multidisciplinary planning, design, construction management, construction inspection, and environmental consulting firm.  Urban provides its services for ports, transit, buildings, bridges, highways, railroads, and airports.  

The firm officially opened August 1, 1960.

Urban has grown to more than 475 professionals in regional offices in Philadelphia, Mechanicsburg, and Erie, PA; Cherry Hill, NJ; Baltimore, MD; New Castle, DE; Hartford, CT; Buffalo and New York City, NY.  Most offices are ISO 9001:2000-certified.
