John S. Holak, Jr. Joins Urban

Urban Engineers has hired John S. Holak, Jr. as a Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Construction and Program Management Department.

Bringing more than 25 years of experience as a Contracting Officer, Audit Manager, and Chief Financial Officer for a large public transportation agency, a leading international engineering firm, and a renowned heavy and highway construction company, Holak joins Urban’s team of experts in providing financial, contractual, and regulatory fiduciary services to both prosecuting and defense teams.

Holak will provide risk management advice to owners, contractors, bonding companies, insurers, and funding agencies in regards to program/project management decisions and plans.  He is also a proven procurement expert who will work with these same groups in developing programs, solicitations, and contracts that minimize project disruptions and deal with unforeseen administrative disputes that often lead to schedule delays and escalated budgets and costs.

Prior to joining Urban, Holak spent nearly 20 years in senior management positions for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).  He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from La Salle University and a master’s degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s University.  Holak is also an active member of the Construction Financial Manager’s Association, Institute of Certified Managerial Accountants, and National Contract Management Association.
