The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recently broke ground on the construction of the Route 202 Parkway, a section of which Urban’s Highway Practice designed.
This 8.4-mile-long roadway in Montgomery and Bucks Counties will provide four lanes of travel from Route 63 to Route 463 and two lanes from Route 463 to Route 611.
Urban was responsible for final design of Section 721, a 3.4-mile section of two-lane, limited-access parkway on new alignment. During the three-year project, Urban provided agency and PennDOT coordination, prepared materials for pubic meetings, and developed the design field view submission and PS&E package.
Specific elements included at-grade intersections at Bristol Road and Lower State Road, five bridges, two culverts, 11 retaining walls, developing a shared-use path along the new highway alignment, and facilitating with the Customer Advisory Committee (CAC).
