Urban Helps Falls Bridge Shine Bright

A large crowd gathered at the recent lighting of the Falls Bridge, a project Urban had a significant role in accomplishing.

An estimated 500 people, including Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, and U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, attended the lighting ceremony for the century-old bridge.

Originally completed in 1896, the iron structure is approximately 600-foot long and connects Kelly Drive with Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at Calumet Street. It is illuminated with white and blue lights.

Urban provided construction inspection services for the installation of lights with related appurtenances for the bridge. This project was undertaken in conjunction with the East Falls Development Corporation and the Philadelphia Streets Department.
