Dores Promoted to Deputy Practice Leader


Gustavo E. Dores, PE, has been named the deputy practice leader for the highway practice, the firm announced recently.

In his new position, Dores will be responsible for product quality, monitoring project schedules and budgets, technical training, assisting with marketing efforts and proposal writing, and continued staff mentoring.

Dores brings more than 28 years of diverse experience to this position, having served both the highway and airport practices as a project manager, project engineer, and technical mentor since joining Urban in 1990.

His current major projects include:

  1. Managing the SR 4044 Project for the Pennsylvania Department of
  2. Transportation, District 6-0;
  3. Leading the design efforts on the Design Management Contract for the
  4. Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission; and
    Providing post-design services on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s
  5. MP 326-331 Project.

A professional engineer in four states, Dores has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers.
