Maryland State Highway Administration Chooses Urban

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) selected Urban to provide Engineering Support and Construction Management Services for its Innovative Contracting Division on an On-Call Basis.

This contract will cover five years and is estimated at approximately $2.8 million.

The primary goal of the contract is to assist the SHA in providing engineering support services for design or review of Design/Build contracts, provide engineering support for the ongoing SHA Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Program, and provide engineering support services for constructability reviews of ongoing SHA projects.

For our first assignment, Urban is providing engineering support for an ADA Compliance Inventory for Engineering Access Permit Division (EAPD) projects throughout the state. The assignment includes reviewing developer projects for ADA construction compliance. Information will be obtained by individual site visits using GPS equipment and smart levels to confirm adherence to construction plans and details.
