Urban to Provide Airfield Engineering Services for MWAA

Urban has been selected to provide engineering services for an on-call contract with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA).

As a subconsultant to Alpha Corporation, Urban will perform airfield civil engineering services for this on-call contract under MWAA’s Capital Operating Maintenance Investment Program (COMIP), which deals with maintenance and engineering projects at MWAA’s facilities at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.

Past projects have included pavement rehabilitation on the airfield and configuration of an aircraft gate for the new Airbus A380 aircraft at Washington Dulles International Airport. The first new task for this contract will be to provide pavement rehabilitation design for a critical piece of airfield pavement for mobile lounge vehicles that transport international passengers arriving at Dulles from the midfield terminals to the International Arrivals Building.

The contract is for one year with two one-year extensions at $1 million per year.
