Urban Ready to Help Clients "Go Green"


In an effort to best serve clients and achieve our goal of Formulating Excellence, Urban continues building a cadre of professional staff with LEED® accreditation, which now boasts 20 LEED® accredited professionals and is continuing to grow.

According to Edward M. D’Alba, PE, Urban’s president, “Through LEED® accreditation, we are positioning Urban to better serve the needs of our clients, who are seeking to develop environmentally-conscious and sustainable projects.”

LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and is a performance-based rating system for green buildings established by the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED® is the benchmark for green buildings, and covers all aspects of a building, from materials to energy, water, and building operation.

Urban’s MEP Division, Marvin Waxman Consulting Engineers, recently completed design work for the US Airways GSE Building at Philadelphia International Airport. This effort assisted the client receive 19-of-a-possible-19 design credits toward USGBC Silver certification.
