Hilary Holmes, EIT, LEED® AP, will be encouraging the incorporation of stormwater management as an integral part of Urban’s projects. Her goal is to keep Urban informed about regulations, improve design capabilities, and provide clients with the best stormwater options for their designs. To that end, Ms. Holmes plans to offer more Brown Bag lunch sessions and training courses, increase communication across practices and offices, and document Urban’s standards for stormwater design. Ms. Holmes has worked in Urban’s Land Development Practice area for more than a year.

Cynthia McCaskey will lead an initiative to increase the overall physical wellness of Urban’s staff by encouraging physical activities and educating employees about making healthier lifestyle choices, including weight loss challenges, discussions about nutrition, documenting and rewarding physical activities, and providing encouragement as people learn and adapt to new habits. Ms. McCaskey joined the Corporate Development staff in 2008.

Orla Pease, PE, PTOE, will lead Urban’s Best Practices Initiative, which consists of bringing staff members together to build relationships, develop and improve skills, share project information, and identify potential growth areas. By building and developing these relationships, the natural flow of communication and coordination will improve efficiency, increase work sharing, and facilitate quality control. Ms. Pease has worked in the traffic engineering field for the past 10 years and joined Urban in 2007. |
Urban’s Leadership Circle was established in 2005 to provide opportunities for emerging leaders to pilot initiatives that are important to the individual and Urban.
