Urban Joint Venture Awarded Major Transit Project in Texas

OnTrack 2010, a joint venture of Urban Engineers, Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, Inc., and Bowman Engineering, was recently awarded a contract by the Denton County (Texas) Transportation Authority (DCTA) to provide support services in conjunction with bus and rail projects throughout the agency's service area. 

The major project during the performance period of the contract will be the RailDCTA Regional Rail Project.  RailDCTA is a 21-mile transit line that will operate from downtown Denton to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority's Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton.  It is scheduled for completion in December 2010.

The initial work order under this contract will task the OnTrack 2010 team with assisting DCTA in the rail vehicle procurement process.  The team will review the rail car specifications prepared by others, prepare the front end contract documents and RFP solicitation, prepare and issue the bid advertisement, review proposals for compliance with contract requirements, provide vendor negotiation support, and present the Board with a recommendation for contract award.
