Urban Promotes Simon to Vice President

Richard C. Simon, CMQ/OE, CQA, has been promoted to Vice President, Urban’s President, Edward M. D’Alba, PE, announced.

Simon, who joined Urban in 2000, will continue in his role as the firm’s Senior Quality Project Manager and the Lead Quality Manager for all of Urban’s Federal Transit Administration Program Management Oversight Consultant assignments.

Simon has 46 years of diversified experience in all areas of quality assurance and quality control, including developing and implementing quality programs and assisting contractors and subcontractors in resolving their quality-related problems.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The Cooper Union, Simon is a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, a Certified Quality Auditor, a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, and a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Simon is also past vice chairman of the Design and Construction Quality Institute.
