Urban Runs for a Good Cause

Some of Urban’s employees participated in the 2009 Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge, presented by Amerihealth New Jersey. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to cross the Benjamin Franklin Bridge while the bridge was closed to traffic.

Those who registered chose between walking a two-mile course part-way across the bridge and back or running the 10K race that began on the New Jersey side of the bridge, crossed into Philadelphia, returned across the bridge, and ended at Campbell’s Field in Camden. There were Urban participants in both events.

The race benefits the Larc School (Larc) in Bellmawr, New Jersey. The school is a non-profit special education school serving students with a wide range of moderate to severe disabilities. Larc offers programs for students ages 3 to 21, with services provided at no cost to families.

Urban’s other community activities include Food Drives, “Toys for Tots,” the United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity Corporate Run/Walk, corporate blood drives, and the Future City Competition for seventh and eighth grade students interested in the engineering profession.
