Bloodmobile makes stop at Urban

Continuing in the company’s tradition of “giving back” to the community, some 23 Urban employees signed up to donate blood to the American Red Cross on Tuesday, October 6th. This marked the tenth visit of the Bloodmobile to the company’s headquarters since 2005.

All went smoothly, according to Annie Prewitt of Urban’s Human Resources Department, who served as coordinator for the program. According to the Red Cross, 19 pints of blood were collected and each pint can save as many as three lives.

Blood donations are one of many events that galvanizes the staff to contribute to community betterment. Other community activities include Food Drives, “Toys for Tots,” the United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity Corporate Run/Walk, and the Future City Competition for seventh and eighth grade students interested in the engineering profession.
