Urban Selected as DRPA Construction Monitoring and Inspection Services GEC

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) recently selected Urban Engineers as their General Engineering Consultant (GEC) for Construction Monitoring and Inspection Services.  As GEC, Urban will support DRPA’s Engineering Division in the timely execution of important construction and engineering tasks.  Urban’s scope of work for this three-year term agreement will include task order assignments involving construction monitoring and inspection, pre- and post-construction phase services, and miscellaneous design services.

The DRPA owns and operates four major bridge crossings over the Delaware River: the Betsy Ross Bridge, Benjamin Franklin Bridge, Walt Whitman Bridge, and Commodore Barry Bridge.  In addition, the DRPA owns and operates, through its subsidiary, Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), the PATCO Hi-Speed Line Transit System.  DRPA also owns the RiverLink Ferry and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal.  Urban has a successful history of providing construction management and inspection services at each of these facilitates.
