Urban is a Five-Time Winner with the FTA

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded Urban a five-year contract to provide nationwide Project Management Oversight (PMO) services. Under this agreement, Urban will monitor the performance of the major capital projects at transit agencies throughout the country. Urban performs PMO to confirm that the projects are being effectively executed and that the federal government’s funds are being appropriately spent. Because of the outstanding efforts on behalf of the PMO Team performing the last contract, Urban has again been assigned to continue on the FTA’s largest projects in country, the “New York City Mega Projects”: The East Side Access and Second Ave Subway.

This is the fifth consecutive time that the FTA has awarded Urban a five-year contract to provide PMO services. The value of the contract is estimated at between $22 million and $70 million and up to 300,000 hours, depending upon the tasks assigned and number of manhours that need to be expended to complete them. This is one of the largest contracts ever received by Urban.

Throughout the prior PMO contract, which expired in September, Urban has overseen eight, multi-billion dollar programs in New York City. These include the East Side Access; Second Avenue Subway; New York City Transit Vehicles, Stations, and Signals; Long Island Rail Road; and New York City Department of Transportation Ferries and Terminals. The total combined project cost is over $30 billion for all phases.
