Urban's Daughters and Sons Come to Work

Urban is proud to again have hosted nearly a dozen children who participated in the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day Program in our Philadelphia headquarters.

The purpose of this program is to show boys and girls, ages 8 to 15, what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the course of a work day, as well as, provide them with the opportunity to explore different career paths. More than just a career day, the program shows the girls and boys the value of their education, helps them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life and begins steps towards achieving their goals.

The children who participated in the program this year met for breakfast and lunch, toured the office, and shadowed their parent or mentor. In addition, they explored this year’s theme: 1 youth, 1 dream, 2morrow’s leader. The children answered questions for their Dream Calculator, including what they’d like to do, where they’d like to live and work and what type of family arrangement they envision for their future selves. They also watched a movie and made dream catchers as part of the day’s activities.
