Urban Receives IACET's 2010 Exemplar Award for Internal Training

Urban has been selected as the recipient of the distinguished “2010 Exemplar Award for Internal Training” by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET). This award is presented annually to one organization nationwide, to honor an organization that has exemplary, results-oriented internal programs that demonstrate cost-effective, significant, and relevant impact to the populations served.

The Urban Engineers Training Institute, managed and led by Carol Martsolf, PE, LEED® AP, provides training opportunities to Urban employees, both technical and administrative.

Martsolf said, “We are honored to have our training program recognized with this prestigious national award. We have made a dedicated effort to provide training to our staff that meets the rigorous standards that the IACET process demands. Receiving this award recognizes our efforts and reinforces our belief that we are providing the best training opportunities possible to enhance the careers of our staff. We will continue to make every effort to improve our training, helping everyone at Urban learn and grow to develop to their fullest potential."

Urban became an Authorized Provider of IACET in March 2008 and has doubled the number of courses offered since last year, to 20 offerings in 2010. Training is provided through live instruction, via WEBEX, and via DVD for those who cannot attend the classes when they occur.

Urban will officially accept the award at the IACET Symposium in Washington, D.C. on September 23, 2010.

Urban’s Training Institute exemplifies Urban’s Corporate Quality Policy which, “focuses on achieving the strategic goal of being our client’s first choice. We will deliver Quality in all that we do, through continual commitment to client satisfaction, employee participation, improved processes, education and training, sharing knowledge and resources, and meeting business goals.”
