Urban is pleased to welcome Daniel M. Carson, PE, to our Construction and Program Management Services Practice as Cost Estimating Practice Leader. A graduate of The City College of New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Carson brings more than 38 years of experience to Urban.
Previously, Carson was the proprietor of Daniel Carson Consulting Engineer in Framingham, MA. Prior to that, he was the President and Senior Project Manager for DMC Engineering, Inc. (DMC). During his 25 years at DMC, he led all activities involving cost estimating and constructability.
Carson has worked on projects ranging in cost from $200,000 to $40 million, including highway bridges, subway/commuter rail bridges, roads and streets, water and wastewater treatment plants, airports, office buildings, and college/university projects.
Some of his specific projects include:
- Massachusetts Central Artery/Tunnel-Immersed Tube Tunnel Project;
- Clarence J. Mitchell Courthouse Renovation Study in Maryland;
- Maine Department of Transportation’s Penobscot River Crossing Bridge;
- Washington Area Sewer Authority’s Blue Plains Treatment Plant Primary
Tanks Renovation; and
- Massachusetts Water Resources Authority’s Spot Pond Pumping
Station Structural Renovation.
Carson has also served as a Project Manager for Peabody NE, Inc. and Chief Engineer and Project Superintendent for Eastern Seaboard Construction Engineering, Inc. He is a Past President of the New England Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a Past Board Member of the Boston Chapter of the Society of Marketing Professional Services.
