ConnDOT Selects Urban for Two Construction Inspection Assignments |
Urban Engineers (Urban) has been selected by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) to provide Construction Inspection services for two assignments the New Britain-Hartford Busway and a task-based on-call program.

According to ConnDOT, The project is expected to generate 1.4 million new transit trips in the corridor, while reducing vehicle miles by 17 million miles annually (a reduction of 12,800 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually!) It is anticipated that buses traveling along this corridor will travel faster than automobiles as they bypass congestion on arterial streets and I-84. The Busway is projected to open in 2014.

The second assignment is a task-based on-call assignment for Construction Inspection assistance for ConnDOT throughout the four state construction districts. This work may involve assignments at sites for road, bridge and aviation projects. Urban’s sub-consultants for this contract include Gannett Fleming, Inc. for traffic control and KTA-Tator, Inc. for corrosion and painting inspection.
