As traffic flow has changed and the approach to manage and control increased traffic demand has shifted away from simply building more roads, Urban's Traffic Engineering and ITS Department has developed innovative designs and methods to address today's transportation challenges.

Urban is at the forefront of traffic engineering and ITS, including design of closed loop traffic control signal systems, traffic modeling and simulation, evaluation of complex circulation patterns, and traffic calming.
